Casa Alonso – A day in Havana

When the almost 90-year-old Cuban Josie Alonso opened the door for Daniel Ricardo González, a photographer’s dream came true. This legendary colonial style villa in Havana, built in 1929 by deceased former vice-president of Camagüey Railways, has been owned by family ever since. „Casa Alonso“ inspires artists and creative people all over the world; The great Annie Leibovitz has already photographed here, the pop icon Rihanna also had been photographed naked on it’s bed.
But all these stories by celebrities could not only intimidate Daniel Ricardo González but also encouraged him to leave his own fingerprint in Havana.

Through the eyes of his camera, the Ravensburg photographer immersed himself in this architecture magic in spring 2018. During the time in the „Casa Alonso“, he photographed this beguiling beauty. The photo series „Casa Alonso“ pays homage to the transience of beauty and the charm of morbidity. Looking at the photographs of the „Casa Alonso“ we literally stroll through this house and let ourselves be enchanted by colours, details, the lines of sight…, and it is almost as if we could even sense the smells.

This is the finest in photographic art!
